Pogba was encouraged to sign for Marseille last month by his ex-French teammate Adil Rami after the pair won the World Cup together six years ago.
Rami said on his Twitch: ‘Pogba! The great player! How are you, brother? There are rumors that you are going to Olympique de Marseille. If it’s true I’m very happy, this team needs a bit more character.
“If it happens, man, I will arrive in Marseille with three, four or five jerseys that you will sign for me, including one for my Twitch community and my subscribers.”
Pogba has not yet responded to speculation about his future, and he has also been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia or the US.
Meanwhile, former United star Louis Saha recently revealed that Pogba could return to Old Trafford to train with the club, and even hinted that his compatriot may be ready for a third spell at United.
“I have heard rumors that Paul Pogba will get the chance to come back and train with Man United in the new year and I think that would be a great opportunity for Paul,” Saha told Casino Utan Spelpaus.
‘He needs to get back to his best level as quickly as possible and training with top players will help him do that. I think he would be happy if he got the chance to return to the club.
‘I also think that Paul Pogba is still a very special player. When you think of midfielders, Pogba has unique qualities.
“I think the United team lacks strength in midfield, and we lack a skilled player who can play box-to-box, so he would be a good addition.” [to the United squad] because he has a different player profile than United.’
Prior to his doping ban, Pogba suffered a number of injuries and was only able to make 12 appearances for Juventus in just over a season at the club.
He has not played in a competitive match since coming off the bench in a 2–0 win over Empoli on 3 September 2023.
