Paul Pogba has broken his silence on his future and hinted at his possible next step as his return to football fast approaches.

The midfielder will be allowed to play again in March 2025 after his doping ban was reduced to 18 months from the initial four-year sentence.

But Juventus confirmed they are in talks with his entourage and it is expected he will leave the club by mutual agreement, despite his contract running until 2026.

Pogba played just twice for Turin last season due to his suspension and made just 10 appearances during the 2022/23 campaign due to his injuries.

Marseille have recently been linked with a transfer and Patrice Evra has claimed that he will contact the club’s sporting director Medhi Benatia to convince him to complete the deal.

‘He wants to play football, wherever it is, why not OM, for example?’ said Evra. “I’m going to call Benatia and tell him the door is open.”

Pogba has dismissed Evra’s comments but has not ruled out a move.

“I laugh because he’s Uncle Pat, he said it jokingly,” he said L’Equipe. ‘I’m still under contract, so it’s not credible. The possibility of playing in Ligue 1?

‘I’m at a club and I’m thinking about coming back and getting out of this situation. Of course you never know what tomorrow will bring, so never say never.’

When his suspension was reduced, Pogba added: ‘I was really happy.

‘I hadn’t done anything, why would they give me four years? I will be able to do what I love most again. It’s like I’ve been given another chance.

‘I got back something that was taken from me. It has been given a new lease of life. March is tomorrow, it will come soon. And it’s something I can’t wait for.’

Pogba, who appeared set to retire after being hit with his original suspension, will be able to resume training in January, it is understood.

The final judgment of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) confirmed that Pogba had accidentally taken DHEA, a substance that increases testosterone.

DHEA is on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s banned list.

Crucially, however, the ruling stated that the substance only affects women.

Pogba’s appeal took place at the end of August at CAS headquarters in Switzerland, but he was only recently informed of the ruling.
