Paul O’Grady helps dog too scared to go outside in one of the final episodes of For The Love of Dogs, filmed before his death
Paul O’Grady is seen caring for a dog too nervous to go for a walk in a heartwarming clip from Paul O’Grady For the Love of Dogs.
The episode, which aired Thursday, is one of the last the comedian filmed before his sudden death in March at the age of 67.
In the clip, Paul meets a two-year-old Staffie named Sarah, who has just arrived at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home and is currently too scared to leave her kennel.
Paul uses every trick he has up his sleeve to lure her out into the big wide world.
He talks to a woman who works in Battersea and says that Sarah ‘is very worried and uncomfortable when she goes through doorways and is outside.’

Paul says, “It’s very unusual to come across a dog that doesn’t want to go for a walk.”
The strip then tries to persuade Sarah to go outside as he feeds her a piece of chicken and tries to lead her into the hallway with it.
Then he says, “Whatever it is she’s worried about, we’re going to do everything we can to build her confidence.”
It comes after For The Love of Dogs scooped the Factual Entertainment Award at the National Television Awards on Tuesday.
Also at the ceremony, host Joel Dommet gave a heartfelt speech before playing a montage from the life of the beloved comedian.
Joel began: “Before we go any further, we wanted to remember someone very special here at the National Television Awards. The one and only, Paul O’Grady.’
As the audience burst into applause, Joel continued, “NNo less than 28 times nominated for an NTA, his first almost 30 years ago’.
‘His career took many forms, but whatever he did, there was always kindness, coupled with a unique sense of fun that won over audiences in an instant.

Before adding, “Here’s a reminder why we all love him so much.”
On Twitter, one viewer wrote, “Thank you @OfficialNTAs for the beautiful video honoring the amazing, loved and sorely missed Paul O’Grady. After that I’m a blubbering wreck.”
