2:05 PM – Hitman
He needed the run at Cheltenham last month after his latest wind operation and has made good progress for the outing, so I’m hopeful he can pick up some place money before another crack at the Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham.
15:50 – Create your thoughts
He made good progress last season, winning three times over fences and I always felt that fences would bring out the best in him. He has cleared the fences well in both starts and we think he will be happier racing left-handed at Newbury. He is fresh and healthy and should walk nicely.
16:25 – Histrionic
He is an interesting long-term project who impressed when he won his first Point-to-Point in Ireland last April and made his debut for us with great promise when third in a bumper at this track in November. I felt like he just needed the race that day, and maybe he wasn’t quite ready yet. He has improved since then and should be competitive. I can’t wait to see him overcome hurdles next season.
16:25 – Roman Roy
I was pleased with his debut on the racecourse at Wincanton in November when he was just denied in a tight finish. The format of that race is working, but he wouldn’t want the ground to get too deep in Newbury. Warwick
It’s hoped the likes of Hitman (pictured) can pick up some seat money before another crack in the Ryanair Chase takes place
3:30 PM – Diego du Charmil
It’s great to see Diego back on the track after a 649-day absence with a leg injury. Although we have done a lot with him at home and he has had a day out with Lalor, I would say he will definitely improve during the run. Diego hasn’t won a race over fences for more than four years, has lost 5lb since his last race and his best form has been on drier ground than he’s likely to find at Warwick.
4:40 PM – Jena d’Oudairies
She is also a member of our top team who showed a lot on her Ludlow racecourse debut and has improved since then. She’s a nice filly, but I’m not convinced she wants testing conditions.
Best Chance – Makin’yourmindup. He’s heading in the right direction over fences and has a solid chance against five rivals.
