Kempton

12:45 – Outlaw Peter

You can draw a line from his last run at Ludlow when he wasn't right and never picked up the bridle after being kicked at the start. In retrospect, we should have withdrawn him because he was in a lot of pain for a week afterwards. Two and a half miles on good ground at Kempton is ideal for Outlaw Peter, who is now doing well and won comfortably on his chasing debut at Newton Abbot. He was so consistent last season, he was always going to be a better fighter and I want him to bounce back on a track that plays to his strengths.

13:20 – Hermes Allen

I was delighted with his debut over fences at Newbury when he was perfect on foot and won decisively. He had a small setback a few weeks earlier so he would definitely have improved for the run and is a lot sharper and fitter now. Three miles at Kempton on good ground should be perfect for Hermes Allen, who is in top condition, was a leading novice over hurdles and won his only Point-to-Point in Ireland. There is a lot of talk about French raider Il Est Francais, who faces a major challenge by becoming right-handed on good ground after racing left-handed on heavy ground all his life. We will see.

13:55 – Rubaud

He will be a great chaser next season, but his form over the hurdles is so progressive that he deserves a shot at this Grade 1 award. Although he has won his last four starts, I realize he probably faces an impossible task against champion hurdler Constitution Hill, but we will try and if he finishes second we will be happy.

2:30 PM – Braveman's game

He looks great and seems to be back to his best. He has worked fantastically the last two Saturdays and taught very well during the week. People forget that decent ground is hugely important to him and it was very soft when he was outpaced by Royal Pagaille at Haydock last time. The dry ground is ideal for Bravemansgame, defending champions and unbeaten over fences at Kempton. It will be a home game and I think he has a great chance.

2:30 PM – Frodon

He is deservedly a legend, won this race in 2020, was third behind Bravemansgame a year ago and has achieved bundles since Wincanton, where he ran very well to take third under the top weight of twelve stone in the Badger Beer Chase, despite the rain the ground turned against him. Although Frodon is a huge prize and isn't getting any younger, he seems to have blossomed over the past two weeks. I'm sure he will do another big race.

15:05 – Onethreefivenotout

He is quite fragile, has not been the easiest to train and is still played very lightly considering his age of seven. So I was very happy with his run when he was narrowly beaten at Wincanton a fortnight ago, with the rest far behind. He has a lot of ability and I hope he can make up for lost time at Kempton, provided there is a decent piece in the ground.

3:40 PM – Email Andy

He's going in the right direction, winning satisfactorily at Plumpton before finishing a decent third at Newbury last time. He doesn't look too badly treated in his first handicap race from a score of 127.

Aintree

13:05 – Jackpot d'Athou

He won impressively at Chepstow last time out but is in much deeper waters in this Grade 1 race, which is clearly a big step forward for him in his class. The more it rains in Aintree before Tuesday, the better it suits him.

2:50 PM – Tahmura's

We have trained a lot with Tahmuras since he was undeniably disappointed chasing his debut at Chepstow, not really having a cut in his fences. We also put cheek pieces to make it a bit sharper. We need to see him back on track and at his best he would be competitive in this.

15:25 – Farland

A newcomer to the yard this season, he made an eye-catching debut when finishing fourth in a valuable bumper at Punchestown in April, despite looking a little green. He is still a bit backward and was quite a challenge for us prior to this first start in another bumper. He's a fun prospect and wears a hood because he can be quite sharp. Whatever he does at Aintree, he will improve mentally from the experience.

Wincanton

15:13 – Sabrina

She is a tough, consistent mare with a willing attitude, stays well and will be suitable for the five mile trip. She ran very well on her season debut in a listed event at Kempton a month ago when she just needed the race and has improved for the outing. She runs to Wincanton instead of Kempton a day later, where the forecast rain would not have been in her favor. Decent chance with Freddie Gingell claiming a handy £5.

3:45 PM – It's a breeze

He is an interesting talent from Walk In The Park from a good family and his half-sister Impervious won the mare Chase at the Cheltenham Festival this year and is now rated 158. It's A Breeze took a while, but we I like him and he has worked with a group of our bumper horses who all won.

Best chance. Braveman's game. 2:30 PM. Kempton.

He is in top form and has every chance to achieve another success in a race that I am keen to focus on.
