Paul Mescal joins West End co-star Patsy Ferran at the Critics’ Circle Theatre Awards

Paul Mescal looked good as he attended the 32nd Annual Critics’ Circle Theater Awards Monday afternoon.

The Irish actor, 27, looked suave as he posed in front of a storm at the ceremony at London’s newest West End venue @sohoplace.

Paul – who recently won an Olivier Award for his performance as Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire – opted for a black leaf print jumper and black trousers today.

The actor completed his night out with a pair of Adidas sneakers and his signature tousled hair.

Alongside him, co-stars Patsy Ferran and Anjana Vasan appeared, opting for colorful outfits.

The trio stars in Almeida’s sold-out production of A Streetcar Named Desire.

Paul plays the role of Stanley, while Patsy and Anjana play Blanche DuBois and Stella, respectively.

The play has received rave reviews from critics across the board.

The Critics’ Circle Theater Awards were founded in 1989 and are administered by the drama section of The Critics’ Circle.

Paul’s appearance comes after taking a trip to McDonalds earlier this month following his incredible Olivier Awards success.

Paul lurked around the fast food restaurant with his sister Nell after the big night where he won the gong for his performance as Stanley Streetcar.

After the ceremony, Paul and Nell had a late night dinner at the chain and posted hilarious snaps from the outing.

Paul posed with his food bag in one hand and his award in the other while still clad in his smart black suit.

Another photo saw him hold the award over his drink on the counter so it looked like he was taking a sip from it.

Another image also showed Paul proudly holding his award while at the Royal Albert Hall in London where the ceremony took place.

Earlier in the evening, Paul paid tribute to his cancer-stricken mother in an emotional speech as he accepted his Olivier Award.

In his speech, Paul tearfully thanked his beloved mother Dearbhla, who is being treated for cancer, before adding, “I hope you get better.”

His mother spoke out about the diagnosis herself on social media, previously telling her followers that she “started living with cancer.”

In July 2022, she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a form of bone marrow cancer.

At the beginning of his speech, Paul thanked his team, his drama school in Dublin and other actors in the play.

He ended by saying, “Finally, I want to thank my parents who never said no. To my mom and dad – I hope you get well soon – thank you very much.”

He later told reporters backstage, “My mom and dad are home. My mum is unwell at the moment so hopefully it will cheer her up a bit and also dad looking after her.
