Patti Yasutake, who starred in the Emmy Award-winning miniseries Beef, has died at the age of 70 after a battle with cancer.
The actress passed away peacefully on August 5 surrounded by friends and family after a long battle with cancer.
Her longtime manager and boyfriend Kyle Fritz confirmed the news to Deadline on Tuesday.
Not only did she star in the critically acclaimed series, she also played the fan-favorite role of Nurse Alyssa Ogawa on Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Not only did she star in the critically acclaimed series, she also played fan favorite character Nurse Alyssa Ogawa on Star Trek: The Next Generation; she is pictured in 1990
She later reprised the role in the films Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek Generations.
Her last TV role was probably her most notable, in which she played the lead role of George’s authoritarian mother Fumi Nakai.
Patti’s aforementioned manager, Kyle, told Deadline about his client: ‘Patti was my first client when I started over 30 years ago.
“We enjoyed every day we worked together and I will miss her talent and tenacity, but most of all her friendship.”
