Patsy Kensit lands a dream role in EastEnders, playing Lola Pearce’s mother amid the character’s battle with a terminal brain tumor
Patsy Kensit has landed a part in EastEnders and will be Lola Pearce’s mother for a short period of time.
The actress, 54, has previous soap opera experience, having previously starred in both Emmerdale and Holby City, but she has previously expressed an interest in joining the cast of the BBC show.
And despite not appearing in Albert Square in a regular role, Patsy’s time will certainly be eventful as she will be part of the emotional storyline where Lola will lose her battle with terminal brain cancer.

A source told The sun: “Boss are overjoyed that they managed to get Patsy for this role.
“She’s an amazing actress and about to star in one of their biggest current storylines.”
MailOnline has reached out to representatives from EastEnders and Patsy for comment.
The publication reports that Patsy will begin filming later this month, with her scenes airing around Christmas.

Her character Emma has never appeared on the soap before, having abandoned Lola (Danielle Harold) and her father when her daughter was only three years old.
In 2019, former model Patsy talked about her interest in going to Walford and becoming the new Peggy Mitchell.
She told Radio Times: ‘I’d love to do EastEnders, my dad was involved in organized crime in the East End, so I grew up with villains and backgrounds like that. I can pull a pint and say, ‘You’re banned’.

If she could step into the shoes of the legendary late landlady, she’d say, “I think so! I’m not insulting Barbara Windsor because I love her so much. But I would like to play a very strong matriarch.’
She added, “I have quite a bit of energy, so I’d love to go out with a bang and play someone like that.”
Patsy has connections to the East End and grew up with organized crime and her brother’s godfather was even notorious mobster Reggie Kray.
In addition, her father – who was nicknamed Jimmy The Dip and was an employee of the Kray Twins.
She grew up on a municipal estate, and in her autobiography Absolute Beginner, she said she had to flee to Paris because her father was on the run.
Patsy’s previous soap roles include Jimmy’s ex-wife Sadie King in Emmerdale and nurse Faye Morton in Holby City.
