Patriots axe receiver Jalen Reagor just hours after he appeared to compare himself to a BUGATTI in cryptic Instagram post

  • WR Jalen Reagor played two seasons with the New England Patriots
  • He was reportedly unhappy before his controversial post

Jalen Reagor may consider himself a Bugatti, but the Patriots apparently disagree, as they fired the wide receiver on Tuesday.

Reagor, a first-round pick in the 2020 draft, was on New England’s practice squad and had not played this season.

Apparently he was frustrated by the situation, as he posted a meme of a Bugatti in a trailer park on his Instagram story, perhaps suggesting that his talent was stuck in a less-than-ideal situation in New England.

He would later delete that story, but posted another one from former NBA star Allen Iverson, in which he said he’s “human” and “I know I don’t do everything right.”

The team announced at 4:02 p.m. that they would release him from the training group.

However, the Boston Herald reported that Reagor’s release was not a “direct result” of his message.

Reagor is said to have previously expressed “similar sentiments” about the meme within the organization.

Either way, he now has a chance for a fresh start after leaving his third team in four years.

There were high expectations for Reagor in Philly after being selected 21st overall, but he only stayed for two seasons before being traded to the Vikings.

He only played one season there, after which he was released and eventually waived by the Patriots last year.

His best season was his rookie year in Philly, when he had 396 receiving yards and one touchdown in 11 games.
