Buffalo Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins wished Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes “good luck” ahead of their highly anticipated playoff game this weekend.

Dawkins made his comments while telling reporters he believes Mahomes playing in a packed Highmark Stadium for the first time ever will give the Bills the advantage in their final playoff game.

“(Mahomes has) only been here once. So he’s never been here before. It’s that simple,” left tackle Dion Dawkins said. “Pat has never been fully in the Bills stadium. The environment will be different and that doesn’t mean it’s to our advantage, but the stadium is our advantage. We are a stadium.

‘That helps us. I don’t care what no one says. This is the dopest feeling I’ve ever had. We have two consecutive play-off games at home. Come on, like we’re going out and eating wings. It is cool. Good luck.’

The only other times the Chiefs played in Buffalo during Mahomes’ tenure were during the 2020 regular season, when fans were not allowed in attendance due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bills center Mitch Morse also spoke highly of playing in front of his home crowd

Buffalo has historically been a strong team when it comes to playoff games at home, compiling a 14-2 record in such games since 1970.

That record is the best in the league for home playoff games for any team that has played at least five such games.

Dawkins wasn’t the only Bills member to speak highly of looking forward to the benefits of playing in front of a home crowd during such an intense game.

‘It’s nice to have the fans behind you. I think little nuances like not having to use silent cadences are always a plus,” said Bills center Mitch Morse, who previously played for the Chiefs.

“I think, especially with a short week like we had, it’s really nice to have this home advantage. But we also know that the teams that have made it this far in the play-offs are used to adversity and unfavorable situations.”
