Patrick Mahomes Sr. WILL be able to attend Super Bowl despite DWI arrest as bail conditions are revealed

Patrick Mahomes Sr. will be able to go to the Super Bowl because his bond terms do not prevent him from traveling out of state, DailyMail.com can confirm.

The quarterback’s father, 53, was arrested by Tyler police on Saturday night for misdemeanor DWI. It was the third or more time he had been arrested for driving under the influence, making the offense a misdemeanor rather than a misdemeanor.

Mahomes Sr. was held in the Smith County Jail on $10,000 bond. The 6-foot-4 former professional baseball pitcher slept in jail overnight and was released Sunday.

The father of the millionaire Chiefs quarterback got his prison sentence paid for by Ace Bail Bonds — a third-party bond service that people in counties across Texas can use.

Gentry Pkwy. Evidence obtained during the stop led to the arrest of the driver, identified as Patrick Mahomes Sr.

“He was booked into the Smith County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated, 3rd or More, a 3rd degree felony.”

The Smith County District Attorney’s Office told DailyMail.com that Mahomes Sr.’s case. is not yet in their system, but that a hearing before a judge is expected in due course.

They said there is no timeline for this — and that his trial could take place after his son’s Super Bowl appearance with the Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 11.

In misdemeanor arrests in Texas, it is not uncommon for the terms of the bond to include the defendant not being allowed to leave the state before his court appearance.

This isn’t the Mahomes family’s first run-in with the law. The Chiefs quarterback’s younger brother, Jackson, was arrested on a warrant for aggravated sexual battery and booked into prison in Kansas in 2023.

In January this year, three offenses of serious sexual offenses were dropped. A fourth charge – misdemeanor battery – remains, and Jackson Mahomes pleaded not guilty to that charge.

Jackson Mahomes’ attorney Brandan Davies said in a statement that his client “did nothing wrong.” We were confident that the truth about the case would eventually come to light.”

The original indictment charged Jackson Mahomes, a 23-year-old social media influencer, with crimes that occurred on February 25 at Aspens Restaurant and Lounge in Overland Park, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City.

Investigators said Mahomes shoved a waiter who was trying to enter a room where he was with the restaurant’s owner, Aspen Vaughn.

After the waiter left, Mahomes grabbed Vaughn by the throat and forcibly kissed her three times without her consent, prosecutors alleged.
