Patrick Mahomes reveals why he’s brought a TV to Chiefs training camp for the first time EVER

Patrick Mahomes brought a TV to Chiefs training camp for the first time ever. And there are two big reasons why.

The star quarterback, who hopes to lead Kansas City to an unprecedented third win next season, told reporters on Tuesday that he wants to closely follow the Olympic Games in Paris and play the recently released EA Sports video game College Football 25.

“The NCAA is out and I have to turn it on,” he said.

The popular college sport is back for the first time since 2014. Images of college players are now legal, following sweeping changes to college sports and the introduction of NIL.

The Olympic Games begin on July 26 and last until August 11.

The Chiefs’ training camp officially begins on July 21, while the two-time reigning NFL champions begin their pre-season training on August 10.

They open the regular season on September 5 against the Ravens.

Kansas City’s offense struggled in the 2023 season, with the eventual Super Bowl champions going 9-6 after losing to the Raiders on Christmas.

Mahomes and Co. then won six straight games to win their second consecutive Super Bowl.

“Every season starts out different,” Mahomes said. “You have to come in with the same mentality as the year before, even with a higher intensity, and even though we won the Super Bowl last year, we didn’t play our best football.”

“Of course the end result was great,” he continued, “but I mean, I think a lot of us have a strange feeling. I mean, we haven’t really played the way we wanted to all year, and it wasn’t fun. I mean, trying to get better every week and the results aren’t coming the way you wanted. It wasn’t that fun.

“We have a lot of those same guys back, and they know what that felt like. So we’re going to try to prepare ourselves better this year so we can play better throughout the season.”

During the same press conference, Mahomes announced that he is “done” with having children, after his wife Brittany announced last week that they are expecting a third child.
