Patrick Mahomes was questionable to return in the second half of the Kansas City Chiefs’ do-or-die Divisional Round playoff game with the Jaguars after suffering an ankle injury in the first quarter.
Mahomes is the face of the franchise and is widely regarded as the difference between the Chiefs going to the Super Bowl and coming up short, and therefore it will have been a huge blow to the team to see him limping from the start.
The star quarterback got caught between two Jaguars opponents and appeared to sprain his ankle, limping off the field seconds later in a big blow to the team.

Mahomes suffered the ankle injury during the first quarter of the playoff game Saturday night.
Mahomes limped on the sidelines and it was questionable to return after half time at Arrowhead
He quickly jumped up again for the next play, but didn’t appear to be in top form as the Chiefs had to settle for a field goal moments later.
The 27-year-old Mahomes then returned to the bench to be treated by the team’s head athletic trainer, and it was questionable to return before halftime with backup Chad Henne taking snaps in his place.
Earlier in the game, Mahomes threw an early touchdown pass to Travis Kelce to give the Chiefs the lead at Arrowhead, but the game quickly leveled when Trevor Lawrence found Christian Kirk in the end zone.
The Chiefs then regained the lead via a Harrison Butker field goal, before Mahomes headed to the locker room for treatment.
