Mahomes Sr. received his second DWI charge in 2018, where he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 40 days in jail.
This isn’t the Mahomes family’s first run-in with the law. The Chiefs quarterback’s brother, Jackson, was arrested on a warrant for aggravated sexual battery and booked into prison in Kansas in 2023.
In January this year, three offenses of serious sexual offenses were dropped. A fourth charge – misdemeanor battery – remains, and Jackson Mahomes pleaded not guilty to that charge.
Jackson Mahomes’ attorney Brandan Davies said in a statement that his client “did nothing wrong.” We were confident that the truth about the case would eventually come to light.”
The original indictment charged Jackson Mahomes, a 23-year-old social media influencer, with crimes that occurred on February 25 at Aspens Restaurant and Lounge in Overland Park, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City.
Investigators said Mahomes shoved a waiter who was trying to enter a room where he was with the restaurant’s owner, Aspen Vaughn.
After the waiter left, Mahomes grabbed Vaughn by the throat and forcibly kissed her three times without her consent, prosecutors alleged.

“He’s in the gym all the time,” the former MLB pitcher, who played for the New York Mets and Pittsburgh Pirates, told CNN. ‘He trains three times a week.
‘It’s just a shame he got that from me. That’s in his DNA. We don’t have the muscle like DK Metcalf and some guys who are built like rocks and statues.
“We just have this natural father body, but hey, we represent.”
When asked for his thoughts on the excitement surrounding the Chiefs and Taylor Swift, with whom he once shared a suite, ahead of Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas next week, Mahomes Sr. said, “Well, it’s exciting.
“I mean, Taylor has always been really nice and kind to me.
‘I’ve actually only been in the box with her once. I’ve gone there and seen her after games and stuff like that.
‘But she’s always been nice. But the buzz around the Chiefs is real, man. It is real. I mean, you can go back to the Super Bowl at any time as many times as they’ve had… and it’s not just Patrick, it’s the whole team, you know?
“Every sports team… their goal is to get to that last game and they’ve been lucky enough to come back four times now and hopefully we can finish well this time.”
