Patrick Mahomes admits he’s ‘a little disappointed’ to miss Christmas Eve and morning with his kids, Sterling, 2, and Bronze, 1, as the Chiefs face the Raiders on December 25

Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes admitted playing on Christmas Day will be a bit bittersweet amid the disappointment of missing time with his kids.

Playing in the second of three NFL games scheduled for December 25, the Chiefs will take on the Las Vegas Raiders at 1:00 PM ET as they look to extend their winning chances after beating the New England Patriots on Sunday.

As is tradition for most NFL teams, Kansas City's players often stay at a team hotel the night before a game, even if they're playing at home, and Christmas Eve will be no exception.

And the quarterback, while excited to play in front of a joyful Chiefs Kingdom in Arrowhead over the holidays, confessed he will miss Christmas Eve and morning with his young children, Sterling, 2, and Bronze, 1.

“I think it's two things,” Mahomes said Pro football talk. “I'm excited because you get that on its own [game]. You can play at Arrowhead [Stadium] at 12:00 noon.

“I mean, everyone's just going to open presents and get the food in there and they're going to be as happy as possible, and they're going to turn on and watch the Kansas City Chiefs play. So I'm excited about that.

“I'm a little disappointed that I'm going to miss Christmas Eve with my kids, Christmas morning and Santa's arrival. But then I can spend the evening with them and open presents with them. So it will be a great opportunity. I'm excited about that. We will miss the kids a little bit, but we will celebrate when the game is over.”

Even though we weren't able to see Santa Claus arrive at home this year, Mahomes was able to spend Thanksgiving at home Kansas City.

Brittany was recently spotted with Taylor Swift at Chiefs games, amid the pop star's blossoming relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

The pair have been nearly inseparable since Taylor and Travis went public with their relationship and even debuted a personal handshake to celebrate the Chiefs' touchdowns in October.

The 28-year-old mother of two is unfortunately used to her fair share of trolling on social media as she is a staunch supporter of her husband and her games day antics, but she revealed this week that there has been more 'rude a*' . *people' on her Instagram in recent weeks.

“There have been a LOT more rude people here lately,” she wrote on her Instagram Story on Tuesday, “waaaay more than usual.”
