Patrick and Brittany Mahomes announce the birth of their third child… and reveal baby’s name

Brittany Mahomes has given birth to a baby girl, her third child with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick.

The couple – who already have a daughter, three-year-old Sterling, and a son, two-year-old Bronze – had announced last July that they were expecting another child together.

And six months later, Brittany has confirmed that she welcomed a second baby girl, Golden Raye Mahomes, into the world on Sunday, January 12.

In an Instagram post on Monday, the Chiefs WAG shared a photo of her and Patrick’s hands resting above Golden Raye’s feet, which were placed right in front of a sign with her name on it.

Patrick, 29, had said on Christmas Day that Brittany would be giving birth soon and joked that he hoped it would be during his team’s bye week before the NFL playoffs.

When his team defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers on December 25, a victory that gave his team an extra week off before the playoffs, Mahomes said, “I told my pregnant wife I was going to give her the number one seed so we can go play. that baby. So we have that number one seed.”

They already have a three-year-old daughter, Sterling, and a two-year-old son Bronze

Before the game, Mahomes admitted that his wife struggled with the Chiefs’ close games this season.

“Any day now,” he said of her due date. “Brittany says I’ve been stressing her out too much this season, so I should try not to stress her out with these football games and say goodbye.

“Hopefully God works the right way and maybe we can have the baby sometime in the bye week.” And then everything will be perfectly fine.’

Patrick and Brittany are high school sweethearts. They started dating in March 2012 and even went to their prom together a year later.

They got engaged in September 2020, months after Patrick won his first Super Bowl with the Chiefs.

“You don’t think it’s going to be nerve-wracking, especially when you’ve been with someone for so long, but before you get down on that knee, your heart will be pounding, I promise you,” he said.

Later that month, they announced they were expecting their first child. The couple eventually married in Hawaii in March 2022, after the birth of their first daughter Sterling.

Over the past 18 months, Brittany has struck up a high-profile friendship with Taylor Swift after the pop megastar started dating Mahomes’ teammate Travis Kelce.

In October, Mahomes posed for a photo with fellow WAG Lyndsey Bell and Swift, who posed with her hand over her baby bump.

The trio revisited a photo they staged earlier in 2024 when Bell was pregnant — and it inevitably led to speculation among Swifties that Travis and Taylor will be next to expect a baby.

But for now, Chiefs Kingdom – and Mahomes himself – will no doubt be relieved that his third child has arrived during his time off.

The Chiefs will begin their quest for an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl on the weekend of January 18 and 19.

And if Brittany were still waiting to give birth, Mahomes might have been faced with a tough decision about whether to miss a make-or-break game to be present for the birth of his child.

But as he celebrates the arrival of a new child, his attention can turn to New Orleans and the Chiefs’ road to the Super Bowl on Feb. 9.
