Pat McAfee chugs beer and says he took 100mg of EDIBLES on flight to Ireland as his show descends into chaos live on ESPN

Pat McAfee hosted a raucous live show from Dublin on Friday to mark the start of the college football season, drinking beer and talking about eating edibles live on ESPN.

McAfee said he drank six beers during the show and several more before the show started, before knocking back more Guinness in front of a live audience.

He is in Ireland to play in Saturday’s game between Florida State and Georgia Tech at Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

“You will never see a drunker man on ESPN right now than Pat McAfee,” one fan said on X.

Another said: ‘This might be the best Pat McAfee show ever. They’re in Dublin, Ireland, in a bar and he’s had 4 drinks in 15 minutes of the show.’

McAfee subsequently said he had ingested about 100mg of edibles during his flight to Ireland.

“When you fly internationally, you can’t land in different countries with edibles or weed. AJ, a friend of mine, bought a bunch of edibles,” he said.

“Pilots tell us to make sure there’s none of that on the plane because when it lands, it’s going to be checked. AJ, you and I both probably had 100mg on the plane.

“It’s similar to my trip from Indianapolis to London, when I had 13 edibles. Last night was a similar situation. AJ and I each took about 100mg.”

McAfee had WWE star Sheamus pouring pints behind the bar as the pub filled with fans for the live audience.

They often chanted “turn up the volume,” apparently because they couldn’t hear McAfee and his guests talking during the show.

In the United States, this led to a bizarre spectacle. American fans were at least five hours behind McAfee due to the time difference.

“The Pat McAfee show is must-see TV right now. Possibly the funniest thing I’ve ever seen on ESPN. Everyone is passed out and drinking Guinness,” said one amused fan.

Another viewer said: ‘Those 2 hours of the Pat McAfee show today were some of the most entertaining television I have ever seen.’

McAfee will be back on ESPN screens Saturday morning, while College GameDay will be presented from Dublin through opening weekend.
