Pat McAfee calls WWE star Braun Strowman a ‘big white son of a b***h’ the same day he issued groveling apology for Caitlin Clark controversy

Just hours after Pat McAfee apologized for calling WNBA rookie Caitlin Clark a “white b***h,” he appeared to make light of the controversy during the WWE Monday Night Raw broadcast.

The NFL gambler turned shock jock was commentating on the wrestling broadcast and Braun was heard calling Strowman “a big white son of ab***h” as he walked to the ring.

The WWE star even leaned into it by rocking a “One Big SOB” tank top at the Giant Center in Pennsylvania.

McAfee came under fire earlier in the day for using disparaging language while delivering a bizarre rant in defense of Clark after she was checked by Chicago Sky player Chennedy Carter.

He claimed the Indiana Fever star was targeted because she stood out from the rest of the group of 2024 rookies, including Cameron Brink and Angel Reese.

‘I’m not going to say anything about the athletes on the field. Athletes are going to be athletes, if they think they can get into your head by giving you body or talking about you, they’re going to do what they’re going to do,” McAfee said on Monday’s episode of his ESPN show.

‘I would like the media people to keep saying, ‘this rookie class, this rookie class, this rookie class’ – no, just call it what it is. There is one white girl for the Indiana team who is a superstar and is it because she stayed in Iowa, put an entire state on her back, turned a program from nothing into a multi-year success story?” he continued.

“Instead, we need to hear people say that we only like her because she’s white and that she’s only popular because the rest of the rookie class does what they do. Well, that’s a bunch of bull*** and we think the WNBA, and more specifically their referees, need to stop trying to screw her every time.”

McAfee later revealed that he apologized to Clark for calling her a “b***h” and that she was “totally fine”

McAfee apologized on social media later that day for his description of the No. 1 draft pick.

He also made it clear on Tuesday’s episode of his show that he apologized to Clark and that she was “totally fine” with it.

“That’s obviously a huge blow on my part. I apologize for that,” McAfee said.

‘I contacted Caitlin Clark through the Fever (public relations), sent an apology and then got a message back saying it was all fine. No blood. We are moving forward,” he recalled.

“And she appreciates us reaching out and apologizing.” So that obviously makes me feel a little better. But for the people who were angry and offended yesterday, I understand. I learned a lot.’
