Pat Cummins gets over his World Cup heartbreak as he and wife Becky rub shoulders with VIPs and Kate Middleton’s parents in Wimbledon’s Royal Box

Being captain of the Cricket World Test Cup and 50-over champion has its perks, including an invitation to the Royal Box at Wimbledon.
While India brought home the T20 World Cup, the only trophy Cummins’ team has yet to win, in front of a crowd of thousands gathered in Mumbai, Pat Cummins overcame Australia’s early elimination in the Caribbean by watching tennis on the legendary Centre Court.
While most of his compatriots, led by Alex de Minaur, were playing on the outdoor courts, Cummins was in London SW19, where the main showcourt line-up featured a trio of champions: Novak Djokovic, Iga Swiatek and Andy Murray.
His wife Becky, whom Pat married in 2022, sailed with the Australian skipper.
As the name suggests, members of the Royal Family often stay here, most notably the Princess of Wales, patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
Although Kate was not present on the same day as Cummins and Boston due to her cancer diagnosis, her parents, Michael and Carole, were present.
It follows their joyous appearance at Royal Ascot last month, where they were joined by members of the royal family, including their son-in-law Prince William, at the extravagant event.
Also in attendance on day four were TV adventurer Bear Grylls and his wife Shara, as well as Olympic legend and former British MP Sebastian Coe, who was also the mastermind behind the London 2012 Games.

It was perhaps fitting that it was a bad day for British tennis, with the destroyer of so many English sporting dreams in the house.
Murray played his last Wimbledon with brother Andy against the Australian duo John Peers and Rinky Hijikata. Despite the huge crowd support for the Murray brothers, the Aussies won this Ashes tennis clash in straight sets.
Djokovic also played against British qualifier Jacob Fearnley and defeated him in four sets.
Cummins’ appearance, in a suit, boots and sunglasses, earned him much admiration on social media, with some even suggesting he should be the next James Bond.
Perhaps that was something he could discuss with survivalist Bear Grylls, who was also in the box, as was former British Olympic middle-distance champion Seb Coe, now president of the International Federation of Athletics Federations (IAAF), who was in the front row.
