Manchester City have unveiled the kit that will kick off their title defense at Burnley on Friday night – with the new away shirt paying homage to Manchester’s rich history.
Modeled by players from the men’s and women’s teams, City’s new away kit is inspired by the city’s towering mills, bustling warehouses and industry, with Manchester renowned for its industrial history and heritage.
A classic white base is enlivened with a vibrant gold trim, which manufacturer Puma says was chosen for inspiration from the town’s famous Ancoats brickworks.
Furthermore, the inside of the shirt’s neckline features a symbolic representation of the city’s factory skyline, a further nod to generations past.
The 2023-2024 away shirt will make its debut under the lights at Turf Moor on Friday night, with Manchester City kick-starting the new Premier League season against newly promoted Burnley.

It is said to have been designed with Pep Guardiola’s side’s performance in mind, with the shirt using advanced technology to provide optimum performance and comfort on the pitch.
Made with ULTRAWEAVE fabric, the kit features a textured four-way stretch design that reduces weight and friction, allowing Guardiola’s Treble-winning stars to move freely and comfortably.
The production also uses dryCELL technology integrated into the fabric, designed to keep the body free of sweat.
The replica shirt is made from 100 percent recycled polyesterexcluding the ornaments and decorations.
The all-over tonal graphic print gives the shirt a retro feel and is inspired by archival patterns from Manchester.

“The shirt combines modern design elements with nods to the city itself, resulting in something that really resonates with those who wear it, whether on the pitch or in the stands.
“The sweater was made possible by Manchester – a combination of industrial colors with a traditional collar that really gives a progressive but classic style.”
