Passengers seen taking selfies while hanging out of a window of a car being driven by an L-plater
Two men were arrested taking selfies while hanging out the windows of a moving car driven by an unescorted L-plater on New Year's Day.
Police caught two passengers with their torsos sticking out the front and rear windows of a black Toyota Yaris driving on Paddy's River Road near Tidbinbilla in the ACT about 5pm on Monday.
Officers stopped the car and argued with the driver, who was reportedly an unaccompanied student and had not displayed his L plates.
The driver was tested for drugs at the scene and returned a positive result for cannabis.

The driver was taken to Tuggeranong Police Station for further drug investigation.
Dashcam footage of the incident shows two men hanging out of the vehicle while filming on their mobile phones.
It is believed the car traveled from Uriarra Village via Brindabella Road, through the Cotter campsite and onto Paddy's River Road.
“Police are particularly keen to speak to the rider of a red sports bike who was traveling behind the vehicle when police observed the incident,” ACT police said in a statement.
“The police would like to emphasize that the motorcyclist witnessed the incident and was not involved in the dangerous driving behavior.”
Anyone with information or dashcam footage of the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
