An ‘intoxicated’ passenger has been handed over to police after endangering the safety of holidaymakers on a flight to Turkey, an airline said.

Footage shows the man – described as ‘unruly’ – screaming and kicking the chair in front.

And the rowdy vacationer—who appears topless in the second half of the clip—says, “People are afraid of me. I ask myself why.”

The Brit sitting next to him, who wishes to remain anonymous, filmed the ordeal.

They said, “After taking off, the flight attendant asked if they could put another passenger next to me.

The drunk Briton left passengers on the flight from Manchester to Turkey in horror when he undressed and started screaming

“He kept yelling and as he got up he knocked my partner and kids. People kept coming and asking him to be quiet.

“The flight attendant said they were going to divert the plane, but I said, ‘Please don’t do that, I want to go on vacation.’

“It got worse and worse, he took off his shoes, top and socks and had his feet up, screaming and yelling.

“The flight attendant said they contacted the police.”

Corendon Airlines said the incident took place on July 10 on a flight from Manchester to Antalya, on Turkey’s southwest coast.

Corendon Airlines said the incident took place on a flight from Manchester to Antalya on July 10 and the man was detained by Turkish authorities when the plane landed.

A Corendon Airlines spokesperson said: ‘The flight was operated by another airline as a wet-lease operation on behalf of Corendon Airlines.

“The cabin crew has determined that a passenger is intoxicated, which makes other passengers unsafe and creates an uncomfortable working environment for the flight crew, what we call ‘Unruly Passenger’ in aviation terms.

“The cabin crew went out of their way to look over him and look after other passengers.

Passengers reported seeing the drunk man kicking chairs and then yelling, “People are afraid of me. I ask myself why’

“Since the passenger did not meet the requirements and reports he received, the police were requested by the captain at Antalya airport and upon landing the passenger was accompanied by the police.

“All actions required by the civil aviation authorities in these types of functions have been taken successfully.”

Greater Manchester Police said the incident has not been investigated.

MailOnline has reached out to Turkish authorities for comment.
