‘Party pad’ from the late cricket great Shane Warne goes on the market for an eye-watering $6 million

A sprawling seaside estate owned by the late cricketing legend Shane Warne is on the market for an eye-watering asking price of $5.4 million – $6 million according to real estate.com.au.

Located in Victoria’s sought after Portsea, 70 miles from Melbourne, the 4,020 sq ft property features four bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Warne bought the Mornington Peninsula home in 2020 for $3.6 million and planned to convert it into a party area, with a jet ski track and bowling alley.

According to the report, Warne had filed a DA with the council for a major renovation.

Warne’s makeover to the classic bluestone also included a gym and game room, home theater, wine cellar and observation deck.

However, no work had begun on the renovation before Warne died of natural causes in Thailand last year at the age of 52.

An old friend of Warne’s, Jonathan Dixon of real estate agents, JP Dixon, has been brought in to sell the property on behalf of his family.

Built high on a hillside, the property offers gated access, beautiful water views and a large swimming pool with a paved entertainment deck and tennis court.

Each of the bedrooms has built-in wardrobes, while the master suite features a conservatory and en-suite bathroom.

There is also a large living room with a fireplace and a bar.

Other features include an ‘entertainment pavilion’ and a climate control system.

It comes after the Warne estate sold a luxury apartment in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs last July worth $10 million.

Located in the exclusive Saint Moritz luxury development in St Kilda, Shane’s family arranged for the lavish digs to be resold to a private buyer through developer Tim Gurner reported the Announce sun.

The stunning $540 million beachfront condo complex attracted big stars and wealthy business people, including footy personality Sam Newman and businessman Antony Catalano.
