Body of a man, 25, is pulled from the water at Parramatta Lake – just six days after another swimmer tragically drowned at the popular spot

A 25-year-old man has drowned at Sydney’s Parramatta Lake, just six days after a near-identical tragedy.

Emergency services rushed to the popular swimming spot around 5pm on Monday after reports a man failed to surface.

Local police, Marine Area Command, NSW Ambulance paramedics and Surf Lifesavers undertook an extensive search of the lake.

The man’s body was found just before 8 p.m.

“He has been formally identified as a 25-year-old man from Carlton,” NSW Police said in a statement.

‘Police have learned that the man was at the location with friends when he went into the water.

‘There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.’

The tragedy comes just six days after a 23-year-old man also drowned at Parramatta Lake after failing to surface.
