Family of newlywed nurse Deekshya Dahal who mysteriously plunged to her death from a seventh-storey Parramatta unit balcony break their silence – and reveal how her husband is coping
The heartbroken brother of a nurse who was found dangling from a seventh-floor balcony moments before falling to her death has claimed the incident was a ‘terrible accident’.
Deekshya Dahal, 39, died about 1.45am on January 2 after falling from the balcony of an apartment in Parramatta in Sydney’s west.
She was a registered nurse with plans to start a family with her husband, Labrinda Subedi, 40 years old.
Instead, he plans a funeral as he struggles to come to terms with the tragedy.
“It was just a terrible, terrible accident,” Ms Dahal’s brother Sushant told the newspaper Daily Telegraph.
“Labrinda, he’s a broken man… they were in love, not married long, very happy… planning to have children.
“Now he has a funeral to plan.”
It comes as photos emerged from the couple’s wedding in Nepal two years ago, with Mrs Dahal describing her husband as the “love of my life”.

Wedding photos show Mrs Dahal in traditional dress getting ready and later with her groom with glasses of champagne.
Two hours before Ms Dahal’s death, her mobile phone was used to call triple-0.
NSW Police revealed that only background noise, including raised voices, could be heard during the call.
A triple-0 operator called Ms Dahal back and spoke to a man in the apartment, believed to be her husband Labrinda Subedi, 40.
The operator informed the man that police would be at the River Rd property throughout the night to ensure everyone’s safety.
At 1.45am, a frightened passerby called the police after seeing Ms Dahal hanging over the edge of a balcony.
Officers arrived on the scene within a minute of receiving the call, only to discover that Ms Dahal had already fallen and suffered catastrophic injuries.
The nurse was discovered in a garden bed and could not be revived.

Police initially took Mr Subedi in for questioning but released him hours later without charge.
No charges have been filed in connection with Ms. Dahal’s death.
A police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday evening that there had been no further updates in the investigation.
Chief Inspector Barry Vincent described the investigation into Mrs Dahal’s death as ‘complex’ and confirmed police had previous interactions with the couple.
Two weeks before Christmas last year, police applied for an assault warrant against Ms Dahal on behalf of Mr Subedi.
An interim injunction was issued by a local court magistrate on December 10, to be listed again in March.
A strike force will investigate the circumstances of Ms Dahal’s death and the two-hour delay between the first triple-0 call and police attending the fall.
Detectives are reportedly investigating whether Ms Dahal climbed onto the balcony during an argument and accidentally fell.
The police have seized camera images in the complex and adjacent buildings.
