Woman plunges to her death after falling from seventh-floor balcony in Parramatta – as man is arrested

A woman has died after falling from an apartment balcony seven stories high.

Emergency services were called to a unit block on River Rd in Parramatta, western Sydney, about 1.40am on Thursday.

Officers arrived on the scene and found the woman, believed to be 39 years old, on the street with serious injuries.

New South Wales Police said officers attempted to revive the woman but she died at the scene. She has yet to be formally identified.

“A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident has begun, with police speaking to a number of people in the unit block,” police said in a statement.

‘Detectives have arrested a 40-year-old man, who police believe is the woman’s partner.

“He remains at Parramatta Police Station.”

Police are investigating the circumstances of the woman’s death.
