Paris Saint-Germain reinstates Kylian Mbappé in first-team training group after the striker was previously penalized for failing to sign a contract extension
- Kylian Mbappe has recovered in Paris Saint-Germain’s first team training
- The striker, who has not signed a new contract, trained outside the group
- Luis Enrique was without Mbappé as PSG drew 0-0 against Lorient
Kylian Mbappé has been reinstated in the Paris Saint-Germain training team.
Mbappé was not included in the squad for PSG’s goalless draw with Lorient on the opening day of the season.
The striker was forced to train with PSG’s ‘undesirables’ away from the main squad after refusing to sign a contract extension, with his current contract with less than a year left.
On Sunday morning, however, he was back in training for the first team.
A statement from PSG read: “Following very constructive and positive discussions between Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappé ahead of the PSG vs Lorient match, the player has been reinstated in the first-team training squad this morning.”

The French star also did not take part in PSG’s pre-season tour of Asia and there were suggestions he would be made to stay away from the main group for the foreseeable future.
However, Mbappé will take part in first-team training on Sunday, with the session likely to feature players who played no meaningful minutes against Lorient.
Earlier this summer, Mbappé turned down the chance to join Al-Hilal after Saudi Arabia made a world record bid of £295 million.
There have been suggestions that Mbappé could join Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer, with PSG keen to avoid such a scenario so they can receive a substantial fee for him.
PSG play Toulouse next Saturday and it remains to be seen whether Mbappé will be involved in that match.
Luis Enrique’s side certainly looked to miss Mbappé as they failed to find the net against Lorient.
Neymar could leave PSG amid suggestions Al-Hilal wants to sign him, while Lionel Messi has already left for Inter Miami, leaving PSG looking a little less effective in attack than before.
