Paris Fury and husband Tyson reveal their newborn son’s unique name and the touching reason behind it

Paris and Tyson Fury have revealed the name of their newborn son.

The couple welcomed their seventh child on September 18 and has now announced that his name is Prince Rico Paris Fury.

He is the newest addition to the couple’s brood as they are also parents to Venezuela, 13, Prince John James, 11, Prince Tyson II, seven, Valencia, five, Prince Adonis Amaziah, four, and Athena, two.

Speaking about the name choice, Paris said OK! magazine: ‘All my children have unusual names and it is of course also very personal for Tyson.

“We also added my name because I’ve had seven kids and still not one has been named after me, so Tyson was like, ‘Come on, it’s about time!’

All four of the couple’s sons share the same first name, Prince, with Tyson previously revealing: ‘I am a king and they are princes until they earn their rightful name.’

While Paris is a nod to himself, Rico was chosen in honor of Tyson’s late cousin, who was murdered last year.

Rico Burton, 31, was fatally stabbed outside a bar in Altrincham, Cheshire, in August last year.

His attacker, Liam O’Pray, 22, was found guilty of murder last month.

Tyson previously urged politicians to crack down on knife crime in the wake of his cousin’s murder, describing stabbing someone as ‘the most cowardly little thing anyone could do’.

He added: ‘The UK is supposed to be one of the safest countries in the world, and yet we can’t go down the street with a watch on our wrist or something because we could get stabbed.

“The government needs to make this tougher on these little cowards carrying knives and guns.”

Three days earlier, Tyson confirmed his cousin’s death on Instagram. He wrote: ‘This is getting ridiculous: idiots carry knives.

‘This has to stop. The UK government must impose a higher penalty for knife crime as soon as possible. It’s a pandemic and you don’t know how bad it is until it’s a pandemic of your own!

‘Life is very precious and it can be taken away quickly. Enjoy every moment. RIP RICO BURTON. May the Lord God grant you a good place in heaven. see you soon.’

Last week, Paris appeared via video link on Lorraine on Wednesday, where she spoke ten days after the birth of her seventh child and gave insight into her relationship with Tyson.

She described boxer Tyson’s grueling training regime and how she finds herself caring for their newborn son and six other children alone while he trains for a fight.

Paris stressed that relationships are all about ‘give and take’ as she explained how Tyson, 35, will take over childcare after his big fight next month.

She said: ‘He’s training for a fight at the moment so I’m at home with the kids but when he comes back he’ll take over.

‘Relationships are never 50/50, sometimes they are 60/40. It’s all about give and take.’

Tyson will face former heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in the boxing ring in a highly anticipated crossover bout in Saudi Arabia on October 28.

Tyson and Paris are childhood sweethearts and married when they were 21 and 19 respectively, with Tyson achieving great fame as a boxer.

Speaking about his rise to the spotlight, Paris said they have “grown” with the fame and also discussed his struggles with ADHD and bipolar disorder.

She continued, “I’ve been with Tyson for so long, we’ve grown with the fame and we have each other back.

‘Especially with the problems he’s had in the past. He knows I’m there for him and I know he’s there for me.’

Paris also told how she was asked to continue on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! just five days after giving birth, in which she talked about how she refused because it wasn’t the right time.

‘I got a call when the baby was about five days old asking if I wanted to come into the jungle and I said ‘no no no’. It’s okay if it’s the right time, but no,” she said.

‘I never chose this life, we were pushed into fame. Going away for weeks wouldn’t suit me. But never say never.’

Paris and Tyson announced that they welcomed their seventh child together on September 19: a baby boy.

The couple are already parents to Venezuela, 13, Prince John James, 11, Prince Tyson II, seven, Valencia Amber, five, Prince Adonis Amaziah, four, and Athena, two.

Announcing the birth of her seventh child OK! Magazine, Paris revealed that her son was born at 2.29am weighing 2.5kg, but has not yet revealed his name.

She said: “We are over the moon to have welcomed our baby boy into the Fury family. His siblings can’t wait to meet him and create lots of Fury fun!

“Our boy is the most perfect addition and we are bursting with love for him. It’s crazy how you can love someone so quickly.’

Proud dad Tyson followed the announcement by sharing a sweet photo of the couple with their son standing in front of a sunflower wall at the hospital.

Fans quickly took to the comments section to speculate on what the couple’s seventh child could be called.

One user wrote: ‘Can’t wait to hear the name – congratulations!’ while another said: ‘Congratulations – I can’t wait to hear what you named him.’

One user then tried to guess the baby’s name, writing: ‘I can’t wait to hear his name. We are thinking about Tyson’s father.’

Others agreed, with one writing, “That would definitely be a nice gesture for Tyson’s dad.”

Bookmakers seem to agree with fans as John is currently the 7/1 second favorite name for the baby, just behind Patrick at 4/1.

Other names that have been suggested for the toddler include Thomas/Tommy at 1/16 and Tyson III at 1/25.
