India at the 2024 Olympics: July 27 schedule of hockey, badminton, shooting and boxing
On Day 1 (July 27) of the Paris 2024 Olympics, India could be looking to make a splash as they have a shot at winning a medal in the shooting event. India will get their first shot at the medals when Elavenil Valarivan and Sandeep Singh, along with Ramita and Arjun Babuta, compete in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event, which begins at 12:30 PM IST today.
The Indian team started the 2024 Paris Olympics on a high note. Both the men’s and women’s archery teams qualified directly for the quarterfinals after finishing the qualifying round in third and fourth place respectively on Thursday.

Apart from them, Arjun Singh Cheema and Sarabjot Singh will be participating in the 10m Air Pistol Men’s Qualification round, while Manu Bhaker and Rhythm Sangwan will be throwing shots in the 10m Air Pistol Women’s Qualification round. India’s most senior athlete at the 2024 Olympics, Rohan Bopanna, will also be in action in the men’s tennis doubles with his teammate N Sriram Balaji.
Lakshya Sen will take on Kevin Cordon in the badminton men’s singles. The men’s doubles will see the rising duo of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy in action, while the women’s doubles will see Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto try to make it to the podium.
Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist Indian hockey team will also play their first match of Pool B against New Zealand. Harmeet Desai and Preeti will also begin their campaign in the men’s singles table tennis and women’s 54kg boxing respectively.
