Dinner is split between a restaurant that offers a ‘well behaved children’ discount for parents with non-disruptive children.
Visitors to a New York eatery received AUD 10.25 off their meal under the initiative and the image of the discount has resurfaced online.
Many loved the “genius” idea that they were becoming increasingly frustrated with children in restaurants, while another said it would “encourage good parenting.”
However, some parents criticized the discount, while others said it would be stressful for hospitality workers.
“I would absolutely 100 percent give a huge discount to well-behaved children at my work… I work in a toy store,” one employee said.

‘And a 10 percent surcharge if they behave badly. We need the carrot and the stick here,” another suggested.
“It actually means ‘well-behaved parents.’ I used to take my children out of the restaurant and let the rest of the family and customers eat in peace if one of my children was behaving. Most parents did that at the time. I don’t see that happening very often these days,” said one mother.
Others argued it could cause headaches for hospitality workers.

“Now I want to see a lady demanding the discount because she thinks her brats are well behaved,” one user said.
‘I love this, but it also begs to scare off the worst kinds of people (having such a discount already is). No one gets paid enough to deal with that s***
“I can see this causing problems,” one person agreed.
Some parents opposed the idea, denouncing the discount for “not letting kids be kids.”
“As someone who has a baby that people still call a ‘good’ kid, this really sucks to me. Children are people, they are human beings and not all of them are going to ‘behave well’ all the time and that’s life,” one mother raged.
“I let my kids go on a fucking rant on their $7,” another joked.
“This is crazy and stupid for a restaurant. It’s ridiculous that someone is judging every table of kids (unless it’s a literal guarantee they’ll come back),” a third complained.
“What if the family gets the discount, but comes back and doesn’t get it? Manager will probably get involved.’
