Several of the settings have gone viral in recent days seeing the kids at home when all of a sudden all the peace and quiet is shattered as the mean-spirited character bursts inside without anyone putting up a fight.

Unsurprisingly, in almost every scenario it all ends in tears as children run for their lives distraught over what they’ve just witnessed, though in at least one case, a child tried to fight back.

In some of the examples, children freeze in sheer panic as they struggle to understand what is happening.

The kids had been happily watching a Christmas video when the Grinch burst in.

In a TikTok video that has generated more than 33 million views, two young children are happily watching the movie Elf when the Grinch arrives with a garbage bag in hand.

The boys’ reaction is immediate, as they yell and scramble away while throwing a pillow to try to drive the wretched monster back.

A boy is left on the couch with tears running down his face as his brother pushes and punches the Grinch, who simply pushes him out of the way and finally makes it out of the house with his gifts.

It has led users online to question the prank.

Children enjoying a Christmas party were caught off guard by this nasty surprise when the Grinch walked in.

The character could be seen opening presents while the parents sat on the couch and cracked up.

‘Teacher: so what did you get for Christmas? Kid: PTSD’, one user commented.

The horror show was filmed by another family member who archived the torturous scene.

In another video, the Grinch can be seen crashing a family’s Christmas party just as the kids are playing by the Christmas tree.

All the kids run and hide while the Grinch breaks their presents.

Meanwhile, her parents can be seen sitting comfortably on the couch laughing as the drama unfolds before them.

A viral video with nearly 4 million views shows dad Zak Nellemann scaring his own children by walking into the house dressed as the Grinch.

Nellemann dances down the aisle as her children scream and run for cover.

Although they are terrified in a video, in follow-up clips the children can be seen trying on the Gricnh costume.

The children were later seen to recover as they were allowed to parade in the Grinch costume.
