I gave a handsome paramedic my number after my neighbour had a fall. He seemed like a nice guy… then said something that gave me the creeps

A young woman received ‘creepy’ messages from a married paramedic who took her elderly neighbor to hospital.

Emily saw her neighbor fall and hit her head while walking her dog and immediately called for emergency help.

One of the health care workers who arrived on the scene was an attractive paramedic who immediately complimented Emily.

She gave him her number to pass on to her elderly neighbor, as the woman had no family to pick her up from the hospital, but he decided to use it to flirt with her.

Emily shared screenshots of their conversation on Reddit, with the first message beginning innocently enough: “Hi Emily, just wanted to let you know that Sarah* has been dropped off at the hospital.”

It continued: “I don’t break any laws. She gave me permission to let you know and she really appreciated your offer.

‘She hasn’t been able to make contact with her sister yet. Thanks for your help and welcome to the city again. Feel free to stay in touch if you wish.’

Emily said on Reddit: ‘He was really cute and he could tell I was worried about Sarah.’

Although she claimed she hated dating, she was hopeful at first, but it all came crashing down with the guy’s next message.

“Okay, I have to be honest about something,” the paramedic said. “Does it make me a bad guy if I tell you to keep in touch when I’m not single?”

He added, “I just want to be honest and you actually seemed really sweet and fun so I threw it out there (to keep in touch).

“I don’t want to get myself in trouble, but you seemed like a cool, fun, outdoorsy young lady.

“Hopefully that doesn’t change anything about ‘keeping in touch,’ but I didn’t want to feel like I was keeping anything away (from you). I am a free-spirited, fun, outdoorsy person, sometimes a bit flirty. As long as you forgive the hunting and fishing, we’ll be fine.”

Emily was shocked that the man would flirt with her despite having a partner and immediately shut him down.

“Oh dear,” Emily replied. ‘Yes, I’m gone. And yes, it makes you a bad guy.”

She captioned her post, “I hate dating so much but right now I’m not asking for much. Can they at least just not be married?’

Hundreds were shocked by the paramedic’s behavior.

‘I find it absolutely disgusting that a paramedic would behave like that towards someone he encountered in that situation. “I’ve been a medical professional for years and I literally can’t imagine taking advantage of someone like that,” one person said.

‘Imagine how many women he tries this with… he works with an audience, so plenty of opportunities. His poor wife!’ another wrote.

“I’m married and this is so cringe. I can’t believe guys say things like this and think it will work. What a creep,” a third added.
