An off-duty paramedic has been killed in a suspected shooting that unfolded in front of onlookers in a park.
The incident occurred in Adelaide’s Outer Harbor, a major shipping port in the city’s north-west, with emergency services including police and SA Ambulance crews responding to the scene at 5.45pm on Monday.
Despite desperate efforts by paramedics, the man could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.
While South Australia Police are yet to confirm the man’s identity or other details about the incident, it is understood detectives are not treating the incident as suspicious.

Vicky Summerton, who owns a hair salon in the area, was driving home from work at 6:30 p.m. when she saw ambulances and police vehicles parked nearby.
“I just thought someone had… had an accident or a heart attack, because someone had an accident on the rocks a while ago,” she said The advertiser.
Another local resident, Lincoln Johnstone, said the incident was heartbreaking.
“It’s a tragedy, it’s a very quiet neighborhood,” he said.
The reserve with a playground is visited by parents and their young children.
