You’re in the friend zone: A Paraguayan man calls out musicians to propose to a woman before she whispers that she doesn’t want to be his girlfriend and leaves as Valentine’s Day approaches
- A man in Paraguay contacted local artists to serenade the woman he had been dating for a month as part of a plan to ask her to be his girlfriend.

It seems there aren’t enough accessories in the world for a Paraguayan man to land the girlfriend of his dreams after seven years of being single.
Walter Enrique went all out in his attempt to propose to a young woman he had fallen in love with despite only knowing her for a month.
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, he approached the singer José Viera and confessed that “after a long time I opened my heart again to a girl that I really like.”
Viera complied, joining recording artists Marcelo Gabriel and Sol Coldas on Asunción’s Costanera, a boardwalk near the Paraguay River in Asunción on Saturday.

The woman reached out to Walter Enrique and whispered in his ear during the failed proposal before turning away from him and telling him that she did not want to be his girlfriend moments after Paraguayan singers serenaded him in Asunción.
The viral images of the proposal show Walter Enrique standing next to the girl while she recorded José Viera, Marcelo Gabriel and Sol Coldas serenading her.
As the group was finishing their performance, the woman was surprised by a group of strangers holding signs that read: ‘Will you be my girlfriend?’
Walter Enrique could be seen holding a bouquet of sunflowers as part of their attempt to make the relationship official when she replied: “I don’t know.”
After an exchange of words, the woman shook her head and gave Walter Enrique a hug before whispering in his ear and walking away.
Walter Enrique took his place on a bench and answered sadly: ‘I don’t know’, when a woman who was recording the proposal asked why they rejected it.

Walter Enrique revealed that he was single for seven years, started dating again and fell in love with a young woman to whom he had opened his heart. He said he doesn’t know why she turned him down after he proposed to start a relationship over the weekend.
The video of the failed proposal has been viewed more than 830,000 times by TikToker users who, in fact, defended the woman for rejecting Walter Enrique.
“She was honest, (like) many more people like her, she put herself first before living a lie,” one TikToker commented.
Another agreed, indicating that “a month is very little” and that “although we never fully know the person, the rejection seemed logical to me.”
But there was one TikToker who took a liking to Walter Enrique, who had been looking for love for so long only to be rejected in front of a crowd of strangers.
“It took 7 years for her to open her heart to a new person and she got hurt again,” the person wrote.
