Papua New Guinea Foreign Minister’s daughter Savannah Tkatchenko slammed for Coronation TikToks
It seems innocent TikToks where a glamor lawyer does her makeup and shows off her luxurious life. There is only one problem – and it has enraged many
- Savannah Tkachenko shared exuberant TikToks from the coronation trip
- She is the daughter of the Foreign Minister of Papua New Guinea
The glamorous daughter of Papua New Guinea’s foreign minister has been criticized online after she shared a series of TikToks showing off her lavish, taxpayer-funded trip to King Charles III’s coronation.
Foreign Secretary Justin Tkachenko has been forced to defend his daughter Savannah, who lives in Queensland, after she shared clips of her traveling in first class and shopping at luxury stores in Singapore on her way to London.
Taxpayers in the impoverished country denounced the videos and wondered why their money was not going to improve the underdeveloped country, but simply to fund the minister’s family trip.
Mr. Tkatchenko’s daughter had accompanied him to the coronation because his wife was unable to attend.
In a video that has since been removed from Ms Tkachenko’s account, you can see how the lawyer visits luxury stores such as Hermès and Louis Vuitton.
“Those of you who know Singapore Airport shopping is so elitist,” she says in the clip.
Another clip shows her showing off her luxurious makeup collection.

She and her father also spent time in Singapore’s First Class lounge, enjoying chic meals and cosmopolitan cocktails.
She then filmed herself washing her face in the bathroom before enjoying a full breakfast on board before landing in the UK.
The law student shared another clip in which she put on her outfit for the coronation: a white trouser suit with a brooch and nude heels.
That TikTok had the caption ‘GRWM (get ready with me) to attend a special occasion’.
Ms Tkachenko has since deleted her TikTok account following a stir in PNG.

Tania Bale, a PNG advocate for social justice, tweeted, “The brutality of it. Nauseating’.
“Just disgusting,” said another.
“So sad to see PNG taxpayers’ money being wasted by giving in to this,” wrote another.
Just under 40 percent of people living in PNG live below the poverty line in 2020, according to a World Bank report, with nearly three million people considered poor in the country.
Minister Tkachenko has hit back at those who crucified his daughter online, saying she didn’t actually buy anything from the stores she herself filmed visiting.
My daughter is completely broken now. She has been traumatized by some of the most ridiculous and unhelpful comments I’ve seen,” Mr. Tkachenko told ABC’s Pacific Beat.
Jealousy is a curse. And you know, these people clearly show that they have nothing to do in their lives.’

He said those who attacked her were “primitive animals” who had “nothing better to do.”
“We went to London, we attended all meetings and events, and she represented her country without fear or favor in the highest degree and honor,” he said.
He later told the Postal courier his daughter “has not misused public funds” and said he would not resign.
Celebrating the coronation reportedly cost PNG taxpayers the equivalent of $3 million.
Ms. Tkachenko won two bronze medals at the 2015 South Pacific Games in swimming.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Ms Tkachenko for comment.
