Pamela Anderson admits she’s on a ‘glorious and imperfect new path’ after ‘finding a fresh slate’ as she accepts Glamour Impact Award
Pamela Anderson revealed she’s on a “glorious and imperfect new path” as she received the coveted Glamor Impact Award on Tuesday.
The Baywatch star, 57, took to the stage to accept the honor at a glitzy ceremony at Raffles in London, telling guests how she had found a ‘new slate’ in recent years after rediscovering her passion for acting .
After showing off her fresh face on the red carpet, Pamela passionately shared that her recent role in The Last Showgirl had finally helped her “shake off the cobwebs of her dreams of becoming an actress.”
In the film, she stars as a seasoned performer who is forced to reevaluate her life when her show in Las Vegas ends abruptly after thirty years.
She said: “I pray that people are provoked by the film and resonate with it, but also the character of Shelley. She does her best, even if it’s never quite enough, and that’s how many of us feel.

“This role helped me shake off the cobwebs of a dream I had almost forgotten: becoming an actress.
“It was amazing to be part of a film where all the women encouraged each other, we formed a sisterhood, and for most of my career I noticed women were so competitive and cruel to each other.
“Standing here I can tell you that it is much better when we love and support each other, thank you to all our cast and crew.”
Pamela then paid tribute to her two sons Brandon, 28, and Dylan, 26, calling them “wonderfully strong and resilient hard workers” who “take nothing for granted.”
She continued, “By getting the opportunity to play this role [in The Last Showgirl]the mask came off and the world opened up. And I have to tell you: I like it. Feeling rooted is new and curious.
‘It’s overwhelming, humbling and above all fun. I live in the mystery of not knowing what’s next, and that’s exciting.
“Few even get the chance to be here, let alone the second chance, and I’m going to make the most of it.
‘As a survivor of sexual violence, I now see the pattern I was stuck in and what I tried to achieve in my own way to exercise my own power.
“And I know it takes tremendous strength to heal, and I thank everyone who has supported me on this journey.

In the film, she stars as a seasoned performer who is forced to reevaluate her life when her Las Vegas show abruptly closes after 30 years.
‘The past few years have felt like a new slate. I am on my path, a new glorious and imperfect path, but the lesson I have learned is not to let what happened to me define me.
“I dedicate this award to women around the world who rise above their painful paths and find the courage to be the best they can be. God bless you, and thank you.”
It comes after Pamela admitted she found it ‘difficult’ staying single after six failed marriages to five men.
It was Pamela married to rock star Tommy Lee, rapper Kid Rock, twice to poker player Rick Salomon, very briefly to Batman co-producer Jon Peters and more recently to former bodyguard Dan Hayhurst.
Opening up about her personal life, she told the publication, “The last few years…it’s been an attempt to just stay alone and figure out what I love, what I enjoy, what I want to do.”
When asked why she goes after bad boys, Pamela insisted, “I didn’t go after bad boys. Bad boys came after me!’.
Speaking about her new outlook on life, the actress said: “I’m definitely much happier now. Ten years ago I felt like a failure. I think it was probably in the last 20 years.”
Elsewhere at the ceremony, Jodie Turner-Smith was presented with the Trailblazer trophy by friend and fellow actor Naomie Harris, 48.

Keely Hodgkinson received the Sporting Hero award, while former Love Island star Cally Jane Beech was named Activist of the Year.
The coveted Glamor Impact Award went to former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson, while presenter Katherine Ryan also took home the award for Feminist Hero.
Chloe Bailey received the Musician Gong, while Jameela Jamil took home the award for Game-Changing Voice.
GLAMOUR’s Women of the Year Awards returned for another year to celebrate some of the biggest names in music, television, film and sports.
The event, sponsored by Samsung and the new Galaxy Ring, honors the activists and record breakers leading the way for women’s equality.
Past winners include Kim Cattrall, Naomi Campbell and Victoria Beckham.
