Pamela Anderson admits she ‘broke down’ when she tried to watch emotional Netflix documentary about her life and turbulent romance with rocker Tommy Lee: ‘Some things are better left in the past’
Pamela Anderson has admitted she was only able to watch ‘a little bit’ of her hugely successful Netflix documentary before ‘breaking down’ – noting that some things in the footage are too ‘sad’ for her to bear.
The 56-year-old star previously said she had “no intention” of tuning into Pamela: A Love Story when it was released on the streaming service in January.

The film chronicles Pamela’s turbulent relationship and marriage to rocker Tommy Lee
The mother of two may have been referring to her tumultuous romance with Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy, who she spoke about in the film and hinted was her one true love.
One scene showed Pamela having a heart-to-heart with their eldest son Brandon, in which she said, “I’m probably going to get a lot of shit for saying this, but I really loved your dad for all the right reasons.” And I don’t think I’ve ever loved anyone else.”
The couple also shares Dylan, 25.
Brandon, 27, was heavily involved in the film which was directed by Ryan White.
She explained his decision to work on the production to Vogue: “My son produced the film and I think he and his brother were just tired of people not really knowing who their mother was, so that was kind of the driving force .
“I said, ‘If you’re going to make this documentary, I don’t want anything to do with it, I don’t want to see anything, I don’t want to see it, I don’t want to have any control over this.”
‘And I said, “I don’t think I saved anything, so I don’t know how you’re going to make this documentary.”
“And it turns out I kept everything. I’m a pack rat. Every school report from my children, home videos from when they were little, so they found everything anyway.’
She also revealed her position as a sex symbol and the sexual objectification of her during the height of her fame was difficult to look back on.
“I kind of grew up in the Playboy mansion, so I mean, I was surrounded by a sexy lifestyle, so sometimes I felt like I did it to myself when people talked bad to me,” she explained.

Pamela said her sons Brandon and Dylan wanted the film made because they were “tired of people not really knowing who their mother was.”

“So even though it’s a horrible thing to say, and obviously it’s not true because you always have to be respected, but at the time I learned how to deal with it and not take it too personally and laugh about it, but yeah, it was a different time.’
The Barb Wire actress also revealed that she experienced firsthand how the documentary changed people’s perspective of her.
“People come up to me on the street now and say, ‘I love you, I didn’t like you before, but now I love you,’ because of the documentary,” she laughed.
