Palworld’s new patch fixes ‘that pesky capture probability issue’ and fixes save data corrupted by certain bug
A new update has been rolled out today (January 7) for Pocketpair’s popular survival crafting game Palworldand it’s fantastic news for anyone whose save data is corrupted and unable to load after encountering a certain bug.
For context, last week Pocketpair implemented its first fix to an issue “where the game would always crash and save data be corrupted when the total number of Pals captured by the guild reached approximately 7,000.” although last week’s update prevented someone new from encountering the bug while playing in a guild (a multiplayer group in Palworld), those who were already affected were still unable to load their data.
“In the previous patch, save data that was already in this state (for servers, the server’s world data) remained in a broken state making it impossible to load, but after applying this patch it will be fixed and correct be loaded,” Pocketpair explained in the latest patch notes for Palworld‘s Steam version v0.1.4.1 and Xbox version v0.1.1.4.
Otherwise a separate bug that Pocketpair community manager ‘Bucky’ described because “that annoying problem of catch probability” has been solved. Before the patch, players who attempted to increase Pal’s capture rate using collectibles called Lifmunk Effigies have seen the displayed probability of their capture increase, but it turns out that due to an “internal processing error” the probability was not actually increased at all. Therefore, it looks like catching Pals will be a lot easier now that this has been fixed.
You can see the full list of changes below in the patch notes shared on Twitter/X. The update is now available for Steam players and will be rolling out Xbox Series|S and Xbox One “As soon as it’s done.”

Community manager Bucky stated that the team will “continue to work hard to address more issues as soon as possible,” so it looks like players can expect more updates soon before Pocketpair continues to address some of the new features detailed in the early access roadmap.
