Palworld developers are fighting back against ‘cheats and exploits’ in the latest patch

A new update has been rolled out for the Steam version of Pocketpair’s survival and crafting game Palworldwhich, in addition to a number of bug fixes, includes “countermeasures against various cheats and exploits.”

Earlier today (January 25), the official announced it Palworld Twitter/X account published a after stating that “some players have been confirmed to be cheating on the official server.” It added: “We will apply a patch as soon as it is ready, but it is currently difficult to completely prevent all cheating immediately.

“We will continue to focus even more on safety and strive to create an environment where everyone can play with confidence. Our sincere apologies to all players affected by this incident.”

Lo and behold, less than an hour later, details about Steam version 0.1.3.0 and Xbox version 0.1.1.1 were out shared. In addition to the anti-cheating, the update also fixes some incorrect text, a bug where world dates were not displayed correctly, and another issue where the loading screen did not end when logging into the world. While the update is now available on Steam, it will arrive on Xbox “as soon as it’s ready.”

Pocketpair did not go into detail about the cheats and exploits that were discovered, and it remains to be seen whether this update will completely fix the problem. However, the developer confirmed that it will “continue to give the highest priority to resolving major issues.”

Palworld has continued to grow in popularity since early access last week, and has now surpassed eight million sales on Steam alone. Yesterday the developers released a early access roadmapwhich mentioned that there are plans to add PvP and raid bosses in the future.
