Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas cancels planned meeting with Joe Biden after hospital strike in Gaza

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has canceled a planned meeting with Joe Biden following an attack on a hospital in Gaza.

The meeting was due to take place in Jordan on Wednesday, but a senior Palestinian official said Abbas was returning to Ramallah, the seat of his government in the occupied West Bank.

Abbas was scheduled to join Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi at a summit in Amman in the wake of the horrific Oct. 7 attack on Israel by the Gaza-based terror group Hamas.

But Abbas is pulling out in protest against the alleged Israeli airstrike on the Gaza hospital, which Hamas health officials say killed hundreds of people.
