Paige Spiranac explains why she started wearing her unconventional golf outfits

Golf glamour girl Paige Spiranac recently revealed why she wears the outfits that made her go viral on the golf course.

Spiranac is a social media sensation with a whopping four million followers on Instagram, and her content often features her in less conventional outfits on the links.

During her conversation with Kay Adams on the Up and Adams Show, Spiranac revealed that she dressed during the course out of necessity, not choice.

‘I was a competitive gymnast before I switched to golf, and so I was so comfortable in a leotard and when I started golfing I didn’t have enough money to buy a whole new golf wardrobe.

‘I often wore workout clothes that I had hanging in my closet, like leggings and tank tops.

She said she grew up learning to play on public courts without strict dress codes.

‘That’s how I learned to play golf on public golf courses, where there was no strict dress code.’

Spiranac offered words of encouragement to those who might feel intimidated by the game’s “country club” atmosphere and some advice for those who might be put off by things like a dress code.

‘I think a lot of people are afraid to go golfing because it can be stuffy and uncomfortable sometimes.

“Because you’re so afraid of ‘what am I wearing, what am I doing, am I going to – you know – upset a country club member or things like that.’

‘Where[as] You can go to a public golf course and I go there and I see guys in cut-off jeans and tank tops, and I’m wearing leggings.

“You can still have respect for the game and keep the tradition of the game alive. It doesn’t have to be all about your wardrobe.”

Spiranac recently competed in the PGA Tour’s Creator Classic, which featured 16 of the world’s top golf content creators.

The former college golfer finished with a score of 2-over par after eight holes, as the competition’s format only allowed the top four golfers to play a final ninth hole.
