According to Paige Spiranac, it’s a busy world in the sports influencer market. And she doesn’t sound very impressed by it.

She took part in an “Ask Me Anything” with her 3.7 million Instagram followers and seemed to throw shade at the sporting influencers who followed her path.

“They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery, so I’m proud to be the inspiration for all these women,” Spiranac said.

“I mean, they’ve seen me succeed and they know that if they copy exactly what I do, or follow in my footsteps and follow the exact path I’ve created and built for myself, they’ll be successful too.

“That’s pretty cool, and it shows how powerful my brand has been that if they copy everything, they’ll be successful.”

Intriguingly, Spiranac’s comments come as she replicated a famous photograph by Jan Stephenson by posing nude in a bathtub covered in golf balls.

While sharing the photo on her Instagram story, Spiranac, 30, wrote, “Channeling the queen Jan Stephenson. Now SHE is the true OG’.

Stephenson was a professional on the women’s tour from Australia, making her debut in 1974.

She won three majors on the women’s tour: the Peter Jackson Classic in 1981, the LPGA Championship in 1982, and the U.S. Women’s Championship the following year.

Including her major titles, Stephenson won 16 tournaments on the LPGA.

As for Spiranac, her role as the “OG Insta golf girl,” as she has in her Instragram bio, has indeed paved the way for others.
