Paige Spiranac has accused NBC analyst Brandel Chamblee of “hating” Bryson DeChambeau in the wake of his US Open victory.
DeChambeau recorded the second Major win of his career in North Carolina on Sunday, capitalizing on a brutal Rory McIlroy implosion to top the leaderboard at Pinehurst.
Golf influencer Spiranac disagreed with Chamblee calling DeChambeau “lucky” as he emerged victorious on Sunday.
“Brandel saying ‘luck’ is why Bryson won the US Open, it’s wild. Doesn’t even try to hide his hatred from him. Smh (shaking my head),” Spiranac wrote on X on Sunday night, moments after DeChambeau made the win official.
Although DeChambeau needed McIlroy to let him off the hook, he took advantage in sparkling fashion, most notably with a sublime shout from the bunker on 18 that ultimately gave him the tournament victory.

DeChambeau later joined Chamblee and NBC for a chat about his big win, and while the golfer at one point joked with Chamblee about the state of his irons, the interview seemed to be mostly cheerful.
However, other fans agreed with Spiranac. One went to X and wrote at the same time, “Brandel Chamblee hates Bryson DeChambeau. It’s beyond unprofessional.
“I pray that an NBC producer gets in his ear and says, ‘You know you’re making it clear, right?’
Another said: ‘Take Brandel Chamblee off air and tear Bryson apart every chance he gets.’
But the two do have a history. Chamblee is a staunch critic of the Saudi-backed LIV tour on which DeChambeau is playing and has criticized him before.
Back in 2022, speaking of the reported $100 million DeChambeau signed to join LIV, Chamblee said: ‘More recently he [DeChambeau] I’ve talked about how he found God and became a Christian, and I wonder how he handles accepting money from a regime that is anti-Christian.
“You can’t take out a Bible in Riyadh without going to jail. They are misogynistic, anti-Semitic, there is no freedom of speech.
“He talks about his charities, about going home to do things, but all the while he’s taking money from people who are oppressing the things he claims to stand for, which are philanthropic ventures. That’s where the money comes from.
“He says he’ll have a new legacy. He will absolutely be given a new legacy, and it will be tarnished like a hundred-year-old silver trophy that has been sitting untouched in a cupboard.”
