February 2021: They become friends at Winter House

In February 2021, DeSorbo and Conover joined forces for Bravo’s crossover series Winter House, spending 17 snow days in Vermont with an eclectic cast.

Familiar faces from Summer House, including Kyle Cooke, Amanda Batula, Lindsay Hubbard, Luke Gulbranson and Ciara Miller, teamed up with new arrivals like Andrea Denver, Julia McGuire, Gabrielle Kniery and Jason Cameron. Conover’s Southern Charm friend Austen Kroll also made the trip.

“Craig and I are one thousand percent not dating,” DeSorbo clarified on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. “We’re not in a romantic relationship or anything, but we’re really good friends.”

She later told ET Online that the trip marked a change in their relationship. “On that trip I realized Craig was single… and the last night he kind of kissed me,” she revealed, adding, “I actually said, ‘It’s crazy you haven’t kissed me yet,'” and he said, “I didn’t know where we were at that time.” ‘

Trouble in paradise may have started developing as early as 2022, when Craig admitted the challenges of maintaining a long-distance relationship with Paige.

“You know, long distance works for us. We’re fortunate that we’re on the East Coast, so it’s only an hour’s flight, but it’s getting harder and harder,” Conover told Page Six at the time.

The Southern Charm star was based in South Carolina, while DeSorbo lived in New York — a setup that, despite their best efforts, was not without tension.

With a touch of humor, Conover’s co-star Shep Rose, who was part of the same interview, teased him for diving into relationships too quickly.

“Well, Craig, every time Craig dates a girl for more than two weeks, he starts talking about baby names,” Rose, 42, joked.

April 2023: Paige breaks down because she moves to Craig’s hometown

In a mid-season teaser for Summer House season 7, DeSorbo and Conover are shown talking about her possible move from New York City to Charleston.

He shared with People“I could see it in Paige’s eyes that she saw the person I could be. [Drinking] has always been my priority, and I have found value in other things. It’s been a real blessing.”

Conover also emphasized his commitment to making things work with DeSorbo, saying he is “fully committed to doing whatever it takes.”

‘I love him. I think he loves me. I think we will remain friends,” she said, adding, “Nobody did anything. It wasn’t a bad thing.’

DeSorbo went on to describe their decision as a mature one, saying, “I think we were both just very mature and said what we wanted and what we didn’t want.” And I think being able to express in real time how you feel and what you want for your future is extremely powerful.”

Paige remained tight-lipped about the exact reasons behind her split from Craig, but described the past few years as “very transformative,” noting that both she and Conover had experienced significant growth and change during their time together.

Although she didn’t specify when they officially ended their relationship, the couple still seemed to be on good terms last month as they celebrated Thanksgiving at her parents’ home in upstate New York.

‘He’s absolutely the best boyfriend I’ve ever had. I can really say that,” DeSorbo shared, looking back on their time together.

“He was a great boyfriend, and he did everything right, and he never made me feel insecure or anything like that, so it’s almost harder when no one has done anything to be upset about, and that’s hard.”
