Paige DeSorbo, 32, opens up on past abusive relationship she endured at 19: ‘Fully brainwashed’
Summer House star Paige DeSorbo opened up about her painful past in a new episode of her podcast Laughable teamvia We weekly.
The 32-year-old reality star opened up about a past abusive relationship she was in when she was 19 years old, adding that she was “completely brainwashed.”
‘I probably became most insecure when I was 19 or 20. I dated a physically and mentally abusive man, and it changed the way I dated in my 20s,” Paige said.
“I don’t even know if I’ve even said that on the pod, that I’ve been in an abusive relationship before, but I feel like if I’m going to say it, this is the episode where I would say it, because I know you sure, there’s been a lot of other girls in it too,” she added.
Her candid words come on the same podcast where she announced her three-year relationship with Southern Charm star Craig Conover was over.
She stated on her podcast that their divorce was amicable, but did not explain why they went their separate ways.

Reflecting on her previous abusive relationship at age 19, Paige noted that it was a “really weird time” in her life.
Adding that she was ‘completely brainwashed’ by her ex-boyfriend.
The star did not reveal his name or who he was during the podcast.
“I was 19, I was 20 years old, I couldn’t legally drink. It really changed a lot in the way I viewed relationships. I had never been exposed to that before. I never thought it could be me.”
Paige said she isn’t “ashamed” of her past relationship, but she is “really proud of” herself and the way she handled it during and after the relationship.
She also discovered why what she was attracted to led her to that relationship.
“I was looking for chaos, and I was looking for pure adrenaline and emotion,” she reflected.
‘I thought: this is so much fun, and this is so crazy. I would get out of a bad relationship and into a slightly better one, but very bad by standards.

The reality star said she continued this pattern until she was 26.
At that point, she got into what she called a “normal” relationship, but it didn’t work out.
After the end of her first ‘normal’ relationship, Paige met Craig.
‘When I got out of my previous relationship and was single and met Craig, I thought, I finally figured it out. I’m going to be with someone who adores me. “This is all happening the way it should be,” she said.
Paige and Craig first met in the Hamptons while filming Bravo’s Summer House and later forged a deeper bond on the spinoff series Winter House.
Their chemistry for months led fans to confirm their romance on Instagram in October 2021, putting an end to the swirling speculation.
Their relationship went from strength to strength until Monday, when she shocked fans with the news that the loved-up couple had split – and even surprised Andy Cohen.
“Craig and I have decided to no longer be together,” DeSorbo revealed during Monday’s episode of her and Hannah Berner’s Giggly Squad podcast.
Fighting back tears, the reality star admitted that publicly discussing the breakup felt “weird,” but she made it clear that she had only positive feelings for Conover; seen together in February
Fighting back tears, the reality star admitted that publicly discussing the breakup felt “weird,” but she made it clear that she had only positive feelings for Conover.
‘I love him. I think he loves me. I think we will remain friends,” she said, adding, “Nobody did anything. It wasn’t a bad thing.’
DeSorbo went on to describe their decision as a mature one, saying, “I think we were both just very mature and said what we wanted and what we didn’t want.” And I think being able to express in real time how you feel and what you want for your future is extremely powerful.”
