UConn women’s basketball guard Paige Bueckers has signed an endorsement deal with Nike, which she calls a “dream come true.”

“I am blessed and honored to announce my partnership with Nike,” Bueckers said in a statement.

“Joining the Nike family is a childhood dream come true. I can’t wait to see what we achieve together on and off the field.”

Bueckers’ deal is said to be a multi-year agreement that can extend into her pro career once she finishes playing for the Huskies.

The junior guard averaged 18 points and 5.1 assists during her 46 games in a UConn jersey.

She announced last month during the Huskies overseas tour that she had been cleared to return from the torn cruciate ligament she suffered last August, even though she did not play on the tour.

Bueckers has missed most of the past two seasons due to injuries to her left knee.

The first, a tibial plateau fracture and a lateral meniscus tear, occurred during her second season. She returned at the end of that season, helping UConn to its 14th straight Final Four before losing to South Carolina in the national championship game.

She missed the ACL injury all year last year.

Bueckers has won the Wooden Award, the Naismith Player of the Year award, and the Associated Press Player of the Year Award during her college career.
