Paedophile teacher who abducted 15-year-old schoolgirl and fled to France is fired from his new job at a Kent bakery after employers learn about his ‘sensitive history’

A pedophile teacher who kidnapped a 15-year-old schoolgirl and fled to France has been fired from his new job at a bakery in Kent after his employers learned about his ‘sensitive history’.

Jeremy Forrest, 40, spent three years in prison for kidnapping and having sex with a 15-year-old student he took to France in September 2012. He was arrested after eight days and jailed the following year.

It has since emerged that the Aberdeen-born former maths teacher got a job as a head baker at a bakery after leaving Ashfield Prison, where he had worked as a chef during his time behind bars.

He was photographed earlier this week leaving his job at Gilda Bakery dressed in a baker’s outfit, and The video of the ex-con making ciabatta bread from scratch was shared by the company on social media.

Now the Canterbury artisan bakery has announced it has terminated its employment ‘with immediate effect’, adding that the revelations came ‘as a shock’ to the ‘close-knit team’.

Forrest, who goes by the name Jeremy Buonocore, also fronted a rock band and has remarried, according to a report in The sun.

Gilda Bakery founder and director Jon Warren shared a statement on social media saying the company was aware of “news recently published in the press regarding one of our employees.”

“Since learning of the sensitive nature of this employee’s history, we mutually agreed that it was in Gilda’s best interests that his employment be terminated immediately,” the report continued.

Forrest previously had a short biography on the bakery’s website, which does not mention his teaching career or time in prison, but notes that he spent most of his working life in the family bakery.

It also says he moved to Kent after previously living in London.

The biography, with a photo of him in the kitchen, says: ‘He is proudly a fifth-generation baker, learning everything he knows from the experienced bakers who have passed on their tried and tested methods.’

Forrest was promoted to head baker in May 2022 for his “extraordinary passion for sourdough, hard work and dedication.”

“He continues to learn about the process, care and attention it takes to make the perfect bread.”

‘Jeremy loves his dogs and singing – he plays guitar and sings in a band that plays regular gigs!’

The biography now appears to have been removed.

It has also emerged that the pedophile teacher who kidnapped a teenager sang love songs including the chilling lyrics ‘Girl, I would do it all again’ and ‘I was afraid someone would catch us’.

Resurfaced videos uploaded online in the year of the kidnapping, 2012, reveal sickening lyrics sung by Forrest.

In a song posted to YouTube on October 5, 2012 – just days after he was arrested – he says: ‘While we were on the plane, we were miles away from the things you hate, but girl, I would do it all again.

“I’d hold your hand, cut off your friends, don’t think I won’t.”

The song, which is called ‘Better Company’ and which he is said to have written himself, also contains the lines: ‘Disapproving stare if I’m grumpy but you’re fine. I don’t mean to make you angry, I’m trying to make it up to you. Sometimes I want to make you laugh.’

In another song, “Arrows and Hearts,” posted to YouTube on October 1, 2012, Forrest sings, “I was afraid someone would catch us.”

It continues: ‘I was afraid someone would catch me, my hands around your neck, your face turned blue.’

Forrest’s video that accompanies the acoustic track is a compilation of still images of him – including him playing guitar, performing on stage, drinking beer, eating at a restaurant and posing for portraits.

Forrest abandoned his then-wife when he fled to France with a student, sparking an international manhunt until they were apprehended eight days later.

Forrest was arrested after being recognized by a bartender in Bordeaux to whom he presented his photo resume.
