A man is fighting for his life after a horrific accident in which a car burst into flames and the three occupants fled.
Emergency services rushed to Davies Road in Padstow, in Sydney’s south-west, at around 10.40pm on Sunday following reports of a two-vehicle crash.
The white Audi is believed to be stolen and collided at high speed with a silver Nissan that entered the road.
The Audi caught fire from the force of the impact and firefighters tried to extinguish the fire, but the car was completely destroyed.
Paramedics treated the driver of the Nissan at the scene and then took him to St. George Hospital in critical condition.
Witnesses told police that three men, who were in the Audi, fled after the collision before emergency services arrived on the scene.
Police have launched a manhunt for the occupants of the Audi and would like to speak to them about the accident.
A crime scene has been established and officers from the Crash Investigation Unit have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
Anyone with information or CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to contact Bankstown Police Area Command or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
