UFC star Paddy Pimblett celebrated wildly after England’s heartbreaking 2-1 defeat to Spain in the 2024 European Championship final, shouting “f***ing get in” at a group of disappointed fans in a British pub.

The Three Lions missed out on the European title in Berlin on Sunday in the climax of the match, with Spanish substitute Mikel Oyarzabal scoring the winning goal in the 86th minute, extending England’s agonising 58-year wait for a major trophy.

Cole Palmer gave England hope in the 73rd minute with a superb equaliser from outside the penalty area. He cancelled out Nico Williams’ opener shortly after the break, leaving Spain to claim the trophy just before half-time.

Pimblett, born in Liverpool and competing as a lightweight in the UFC, shared images on Instagram of his wild parties at full throttle.

‘Look at your faces, you f***ing wollybacks,’ he shouted, rubbing it into the surrounding Three Lions fans. ‘F***ing come in! You bunch of f***ing wols. You f***ing mings.’

A woollyback, or wool, is a derogatory insult used in Scouse mainly to describe someone who lives outside the city or from the Liverpool area, in places such as St Helens, Southport or Wirral.

Pimblett, who at one point turns the camera to reveal his maniacal face, captioned it: Paddy the Baddy celebrates Spain’s victory in the European Championship.

The 29-year-old fighter later revealed how he had celebrated: he had bet on England to lose, but Spain’s late victory had earned him £3,000.

“There are so many people making a big deal out of this video so I’m putting it online myself for you all to see. I had a bet with a few of my mates in the pub and if England had won I would have had to pay £3,000,” he explained.

‘Plus everyone jumped on me and celebrated 10 minutes earlier when England scored. How can you expect me not to repay the favour a few minutes later?

“That’s what it feels like to win $3,000 in the last minute of a game. If someone says they wouldn’t celebrate if they won a bet like that, you’re crazy.”

Paddy ‘The Baddy’ announced ahead of the 2022 World Cup that he would not be cheering on England due to ‘disgusting’ chants directed at Liverpool supporters by rival fans.

Speaking of the Bar talk podcast, Pimblett said: ‘I don’t really follow international football. I don’t care, it’s the [Premier League] season.’

‘Scousers just don’t like international football. We don’t see why we should be arm in arm with fans who sing “Always the victims”, week in, week out, singing about 97 dead fans. It’s disgusting. What’s the other one? “Feed the Scousers” and that.’

He claims it would have been 'absolutely mad' not to celebrate winning £3,000

Pimblett later explained why he celebrated in this way, claiming it was because of a bet

‘Why should we support England? I saw a video of England fans chanting, “We all hate Scousers.” Why should we support England?’

Pimblett admitted his lack of support for England ends with the football team, claiming he still supports the country ‘when it comes to cricket, rugby and every other sport’.
