Paddy McGuinness breaks his silence following split from wife Christine and reveals ‘homesickness’
Paddy McGuinness has broken his silence and opened up about “homesickness” following his split from wife Christine after 11 years of marriage.
The presenter, 49, spoke about his aversion to being away from his family, as he continues to live with his estranged partner, 35, and their three children.
Speaking of his busy schedule, he said Sun‘s TV Mag: ‘I’ve always had a kind of rule that I stick to: I never do more than nine days anywhere because I like to be at home.’
Before adding, “I think you naturally feel nostalgic.”
He went on to say that even when he travels the world, he always makes sure to have his phone handy so he can communicate with his loved ones via video calls.

Former love: The presenter opened up about his dislike of being away from home, where he continues to live with his estranged partner, 35, and three children.
He then discussed the contestants on his latest Channel 4 show Tempting Fortunes, where 12 contestants scour the Eastern Cape of South Africa in search of £300,000.
Paddy said: ‘It’s when you’re in the position of these guys [the contestants on Tempting Fortune] you’re on the inside, where you literally have zero contact with your family, that’s when the chips are really low.’
It comes after Christine recently shared a photo of herself in a blue bikini while posting a cryptic post-split message.
The model took to Instagram this week to share the photo she took on a recent vacation.
She told her followers on social media that she was looking forward to some downtime with her children as school holidays approached.
Christine shares twins Penelope and Leo, nine, and Felicity, six, all with their former comedian.
In her photo, Christine could be seen sunbathing while sitting by a pool with her back to the camera, captioning her snap: “Never look back.”

It comes after Christine opened up about her family dynamics this week when she described how to come to terms with their differences.
Continuing to live together for the sake of their children, Christine and TV presenter Paddy have been open about their co-parenting dynamic at home.

She insisted that she doesn’t compare herself to anyone else, and the TV personality also touched on her autism diagnosis and how it relates to motherhood.

“I love how we are, I try not to compare myself to any other family because we’re not really like any other family I know,” Christine explained to Heart.
She continued: ‘So, I feel comfortable and accept our family for who we are, and I love our differences.
“Each and every family is unique anyway, but ours is just one that I have never seen on any social media platform before and I am very proud of that.
“I love us, I love how we are,” he concluded.
Christine was separated from Paddy’s husband of 11 years in 2022, with the couple still living in their home to keep things as “normal” as possible for their three children, who are unaware of the breakup.
